He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the Ateneo De Manila University in 2004, and his Juris Doctors degree from Ateneo de Manila Law School in 2008, graduating with honors. He obtained another Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy in 2012, and was admitted to the roster of Certified Public Accountants thereafter.
Atty. Camara joined Castillo Laman Tan Pantaleon & San Jose Law Firm (CLTPSJ) as an Associate in 2008 and became active in CLTPSJ’s practice departments, namely, (a) litigation and dispute resolution; (b) intellectual property; (c) employment and labor relations; and (d) corporate and commercial law.
In 2010, Atty. Camara joined Puno & Peñarroyo Law Offices as Senior Associate and shortly admitted to full partnership, heading the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution practice and the tax department.
Since his admission to the Bar and the roster of Certified Public Accountants, Atty. Camara gained extensive experience in various practice areas such as Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Labor and Employment Law, Intellectual Property Law, and Commercial Transactions. As a litigator, he either personally handled or collaborated with other counsel on cases from simple disputes, to being involved with the largest mass tort action in the country, involving multiple cases filed in the different courts by at least 40,000 plaintiffs and with claims amounting to at least US$ 2.7 Billion. In the field of Labor and Employment, he has handled various labor concerns arising from problems on employee performance and termination, to the complex issues on collective bargaining and strikes. In the field of transactional law, Atty. Camara provided clients with advice and legal insight ranging from the most standard licensing or supply agreements to the multifaceted aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions. In corporate rehabilitation cases, Atty. Camara had experience representing all sides from the debtor seeking reprieve, the creditor demanding immediate payments and/or guarantees, and the rehabilitation receiver tasked with effective management or disposition of the assets.
To bolster his Tax Practice especially in the field of tax advisory and compliance, Atty. Camara and Atty. Custodio formed Camara Custodio & Co., CPAs, a general professional partnership engaged in the practice of accountancy specializing in tax advocacy, maximizing the interplay of accounting and legal principles for tax efficiency.
